Technician/Technical Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs complex diagnostic testing analysis and optimization of all components of the network including power, communications, hardware, lines, modems, and workstations
- Performs systems testing and optimization of software components
- Performs installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities
- Supports the technical/engineering activities related to the development and integration, of testing of a project
- Tests and analyzes all elements of the network facilities including power, software, communications devices, lines, modems, and terminals
- Works under the supervision of a Project Engineers or Project Manager
- May perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience/Educational Requirements
- Technician I - High School Diploma or G.E.D. or other equivalent degree program.
- Technician II - High School Diploma and 2 yrs of general experience.*
- Technician III - High School Diploma and 4 yrs of general experience.*
- Technician IV - High School Diploma and 6 yrs of general experience.*
- Technician V - High School Diploma and 8 yrs of general experience.*
- Technician VI - High School Diploma and 10 yrs of general experience.*
*Two (2) years specific experience in task area is considered equivalent to 5 years general experience.
Senior Software Engineer

Qualifications
Provides consulting services to members of management, the professional staff, and the customer in the analysis and design of programming systems, problem-oriented languages, management systems, scientific systems, and related areas of computational projects. Develops the planning and monitoring of the design, implementation, and checkout of programming systems, and provides technical direction in solving complex problems. Performs technical tasks that frequently involve customer relations. Will also develop principles and procedures for accomplishing customer-programming studies, analyzing the objectives sought and the methods to be used. Develops analytical and computational techniques for solving problems. Develops the formulation and design of a project. Provides technical direction, guidance, and assistance to assigned projects. Gives advice regarding the programming and analytical phases of development and research problems. Develops mathematical models when required, conducting original research into modeling techniques when necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelors Degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 10 to 15 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of GCSS-AF IF, the Enterprise Service Bus, and the GCSS-AF Data Services are required.
